How does pesticide sprayer calibration work?
Calibration means measuring what your equipment actually puts down, not what a dial says it should, by running a physical catch test: catching or weighing the equipment's real output over a measured area or time, then converting that measurement into gallons per acre or pounds per acre using the formula for your equipment type. Every workflow follows the same three steps
- Guided catch test. The real physical procedure for your equipment (a measured-area or timed catch), with the formula and the worked arithmetic shown at every step, not just a final number.
- Label-rate and mix-rate math. Enter the label's target rate in whatever unit it is printed (percent, parts per million, ounces of product per acre, or pounds of active ingredient per acre) and your tank or hopper size, and the workflow computes exactly how much product to add, with the unit conversion shown, not hidden.
- Unit-and-decimal error coach. When a result lands outside a plausible range, the workflow names the specific likely mistake (percent versus parts-per-million, gallons-per-acre versus gallons-per-minute, active-ingredient rate versus product rate, or a misplaced decimal) instead of a generic warning.
