How much pesticide should I mix per gallon of water?
It depends entirely on the label's stated rate and unit. Enter the label's rate exactly as printed (percent, ppm, ounces per acre, or pounds of active ingredient per acre) along with your tank size and, for the two per-acre units, your calibrated output rate, and the converter shows ounces of product per gallon with the conversion arithmetic.
What is the difference between percent and parts per million?
Both describe concentration, but at different scales: percent is parts per hundred, parts per million (ppm) is parts per million, so 1 percent equals 10,000 ppm. Confusing the two produces a mix that is 10,000 times too strong or too weak, one of the most common label-reading errors.
Why do I need my output rate to convert an ounces-per-acre rate?
An ounces-per-acre rate tells you how much product to apply to a given area, but converting that into how much to add to a specific tank requires knowing how many gallons of water actually cover that same acre, which is your calibrated output rate.
